Located in the bustling Batam City Square Mall, Citra Pempek is a culinary gem that promises an authentic taste of Indonesian cuisine, especially known for its beloved pempek. This delightful eatery transports you straight to the heart of Palembang with flavors that excite the palate and embrace your senses.

Citra Pempek serves up a variety of delicious dishes, with its signature fare being the popular pempek or fried fish cakes. Packaged with a robust filling that exceeds typical offerings, these tasty morsels are accompanied by a sweet, slightly spicy sauce that compliments each bite perfectly. As one satisfied customer, Emily Farida, aptly noted, “I never doubt the taste here, everything is great, especially their pempek, which is just perfect!" This sentiment is echoed in numerous other reviews, illustrating that the restaurant consistently hits the mark with its dishes.

Beyond just pempek, the menu boasts an array of options, including mee goreng (stir fried noodles), nasi kuning (yellow rice), and tekwan (a delightful soup with fish balls), catering to diverse tastes and preferences. As Cherz mentions in her review, “I tried their pempek, lenggang, tekwan, nasi kuning, nasi goreng, nasi liwet, otak otak.” Each dish is crafted with care and ensures a memorable dining experience.

The atmosphere at Citra Pempek is welcoming and casual, making it a perfect spot for a family meal, a gathering with friends, or even a quick takeaway after a long day of shopping. The friendly staff, who can converse in English and simple Mandarin, adds to the inviting ambiance, ensuring that guests feel comfortable and well-attended to throughout their dining journey.

While Citra Pempek is celebrated for its delightful dishes, some customers have mentioned that the service could be more attentive, and a few items, such as the Ayam Penyet, receive mixed reviews regarding taste. However, the restaurant stands out for its affordability, making it a fantastic choice for those looking to savor Indonesian flavors without breaking the bank, as noted by Edo Lorenza.

In summary, whether you’re a pempek aficionado or a culinary explorer, Citra Pempek in Batam City Square Mall is a must-visit destination. Dive into its delectable offerings and enjoy a taste of Indonesia that is bound to leave you craving more!

My gang wanted some supper, so we bought pempek (fried fish cakes) and mee goreng (stir fried noodles) as take away. The fish cakes were really tasty! They are not the usual ones found in SG, where the proportion of fish is probably quite miserable. The ones here were really packed and stuffed real tight, and they were eaten with a great sauce that’s sweet and a tinge of spiciness. The noodles were really great, but might be a bit salty for some people. Chili that came along was really delicious. Would eat the same dishes at the shop next time, and maybe try their fried rice. But I’m happy with my fish cakes!

This restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options beyond just pempek, which is great. The pempek and its Cuko, adding to the overall dining experience. However, the service is average, and the Ayam Penyet is also just average in taste. One notable aspect is the affordability; the prices here are quite reasonable, making it a budget-friendly choice for those looking for tasty Indonesian dishes

Been visiting this restaurant frequently, the food is mostly good, nothing to complain here. I tried their pempek, lenggang, tekwan, nasi kuning, nasi goreng, nasi liwet, otak otak. My mom’s fav is tekwan, it’s like boiled pempek(literally fishball) served with soup. My fav is their nasi kuning set and pempek kulit. Pempek kulit has more crunch than other. Pempek bulat usually smells fishy, pempek kapal selam has boiled egg hiding inside. Lenggang is like omelette with pempek. And otak otak is like grilled fish cake. They restaurant just get crowded at lunch or dinner time so be prepared to wait if you visit at those hours on weekend

typical franchised vibes, food was good though albeit chicken was small. Pempek was pretty decent, served dry though - sauce was also on the sweeter side which I preferred.
